Rent-A-Box was founded in 1983 by Alan Hamilton in Yuba City, California. He perceived a local need for temporary storage for everything from agricultural products to business records, household goods to industrial products. He started with a few 20 ft. shipping containers, a used truck, and a self-designed trailer.
The business grew gradually until 1992 when Alan passed on full-time management to Reed Hamilton. The legacy of honesty, friendly service, and innovation continues today.
As of June 1st, 2013, Rent-A-Box was purchased by Container Solutions, another small, family-owned company, with goals and visions closely aligned with the those of the original ownership. Container Solutions now offers a variety of different rental storage sizes, as well as tilt-bed delivery service from the Yuba City yard.
